This session will explore fair treatment at work and address what the scientific research on fairness has uncovered thus far. Dr. Brent Scott, Professor of Management, Broad College of Business, MSU, will be presenting. Questions that will be discussed include, “What constitutes ‘fair’ treatment in the minds of employees?” “Is it the case that the more fairness, the better?” “What’s worse for employees: being treated unfairly all of the time or some of the time?” and “Why do managers treat employees fairly (or unfairly) in the first place?” Overall, the goal of this session is to stimulate thought about the important role of fair treatment in organizations.
